General comments: | Alpha Estate is located in the northwestern part of Greece, Amyndeon region, Florina. The winery was founded in 1997 by experienced winegrower Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis, who after years of activity in different regions of Greece, chose the Amyndeon region to create his own wine. The vine is cultivated with respect for nature, combined with eco-friendly practices, at the highest level, based on the latest international standards. The professionalism, experience and effort of the team are necessary conditions for obtaining the desired result. |

Characteristics: | Bright, light yellow color with greenish hues. Strong and lively nose, typical Malagouzia, suggesting rose petals with floral aromas and sweet spices, melon, litchi, with a touch of honeysuckle. Round and soft on the palate, fat but balanced, rich in alcohol, with a lot of finesse. Well structured, reminiscent of nose aromas with a touch of rosemary. A richly textured wine with superb length and balance. A classy wine, with a long finish and persistent aromas.
Ageing potential: 1-3 years |
Vinification: | Uprooting without crushing. Cold maceration at 5°C for 12 hours and fermentation at gradually increasing temperatures, providing aromatic complexity to the wine. |
More information: | The vineyard is located on the Amyndeon plateau, Amyndeon viticulture area, NW Macedonia, “Turtles” & “Hedgehog” subregions. The “Turtles” subregion is located at an altitude of 660 meters, with a northwest orientation, facing the Voras mountain, 69 ha of vineyards. Linear, private property, located at an altitude of 620-710 m. |
