General comments: | Alpha Estate is located in the northwestern part of Greece, Amyndeon region, Florina. Alpha Estate was founded in 1997 by experienced winegrower Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis, who after years of activity in different regions of Greece, chose the Amyndeon region to create their own wine. The vine is cultivated with respect for nature, combined with eco-friendly practices, at the highest level, based on the latest international standards. The professionalism, experience and effort of the team are necessary conditions for obtaining the desired result. |

Characteristics: | Bright dark ruby color. Complex nose with typical bouquet of sun-dried tomatoes, smoky black fruits, strawberries, black cherries, licorice and spices. Full bodied with rich depth of fruit, blackberries, plums, herbal hints and oak in the background. Solid, velvety tannins and long aftertaste with persistent aromas. Ageing potential: 15+ years |
Vinification: | Discoloration, light crushing, cold soaking – skin contact, alcoholic fermentation by indigenous flora isolated from the specific block, at gradually increasing temperatures, keeping the wine “sur lies” for 24 months with regular stirring. 24 months in new Allier/Jupille French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle. No treatment or filtration before bottling. |
