General comments: | Alpha Estate is located in the northwestern part of Greece, Amyndeon region, Florina. Alpha Estate was founded in 1997 by experienced winegrower Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis, who after years of activity in different regions of Greece, chose the Amyndeon region to create their own wine. The vine is cultivated with respect for nature, combined with eco-friendly practices, at the highest level, based on the latest international standards. The professionalism, experience and effort of the team are necessary conditions for obtaining the desired result. |

Characteristics: | Deep ruby color with violet notes. Strong, tangy aromas of sweet cherry, candied plum and toasted vanilla oak. Full-bodied with deep black fruit aromas, peppery and strong background with spicy oak accents. Firm tannins build through the finish, with a supporting depth of fruit. A “Vin de Garde” with a wonderful future. Aging potential: 12-15 years. |
Vinification: | Removal, no crushing, cold soaking – skin contact under controlled conditions, alcoholic fermentation at gradually increasing temperatures, keeping the wine “sur lie” for eight months with regular stirring. Eighteen months in Allier Bertrange oak barrels. No treatment or filtration before bottling and twelve months in bottles. |

Food pairing: | It combines harmoniously with juicy red meat, game, barbecue or spicy food. Also meat pies. Paired with aromatic-spicy cheeses is another interesting suggestion. |
