General comments: | Ktima Alpha Estate is located in the NW part of Greece, Amyndeon, Florina. Alpha Estate was founded in 1997 by experienced winegrower Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis, who, after years of activity in different regions of Greece, chose Amyndeon to create their own wine. The vine is cultivated with respect for nature combined with eco-friendly practices, at the highest level, based on the latest international standards. Professional know-how, experience and the team’s effort, are necessary conditions to the desirable result, for the wines sealed under the Alpha Estate label. |

Characteristics: | Splendid, purple red color. Complex, typical bouquet of spices (vanilla, pepper, cloves), with notes of ripe blackberries. Full mouth, with vanilla aroma, rounded tannins, balanced acidity and wood tones. Long aftertaste with intense quince aroma. Aging potential, minimum 8 years . |
Vinification: | Discoloration, light crushing, cold soaking, skin contact, alcoholic fermentation at gradually increased temperatures, keeping the wine on the lees for 7 months with regular stirring. 12 months in Allie oak barrels and 12-15 months in bottle. |
More information: | Vineyard: 85 ha of linear vineyard located at an altitude of 620-710 m. Location: “Petres” (“Stone”) and “Dromos” (“Road”), Amyndeon. Sandy – clay soil, with excellent drainage. Continental climate with heavy rainfall and snowy winters, dry summers with cool nights, absence of spring frost. Yield 60 hl/ha, after selection. |
